Aurélien Gallet creates visionary contextual design.

A native of France based in New York, Gallet founded his East Village atelier in 2011. It quickly garnered recognition worldwide. Gallet was named among the World’s Top 80 Designers by Architectural Digest AD Collector 2012 which wrote, “His artistic prowess in various media including video and photography makes him a standout.” Gallet’s spectrum of commissions operates beyond the traditional encompassing: architecture, interior design, furniture, product development, site-specific installations and sculpture.

Gallet´s aesthetic mixes dynamic materials with both traditional and innovative methods. His inspiration ranges from the exotic—the forbidden temples in Cambodia—to the deeply personal—inscribed quartz stones from his home in Normandy. With these memories and mementos he creates new narratives.

Trained as an Art Appraiser in France, Gallet was recruited by top tier design firms in New York City, heading-up the Department of Antiques and Decorative Arts for a major international Studio upon his arrival. Thereafter, Gallet was recruited as Director of an internationally renowned Studio with offices in New York and Paris overseeing architecture and interior design projects throughout the Americas, Europe, Russia and the Middle East including: a Royal Palace in Qatar, a Palace in Moscow, upscale Manhattan Residences and a Beach House in California.

Gallet has been selected for several high profile honors. He was invited to design rooms at both the 2011 Kips Bay Decorator Show House and the Hampton Designer Showhouse 2011. Chosen as one of Elle Decor’s “5 Designers to Watch 2011,” he created a room for the magazine’s Modern Life Concept House. Gallet’s designs have been featured in respected press, including the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

Aurelient Gallet’s commissions include: private residences, hotels, retailers, property developers, sovereign wealth funds and collectors.
